Using Groups

How Do Groups Work?

The concept behind groups is that they can be created to connect DUB users for any event or affiliation.

The creator of the group specifies a group name and a DUB ID (think of it as a shortcut, or nickname) and then gives the DUB ID to all the people they want to be in the group. Then, DUB users join a group using the group DUB ID.  Once joined, all members of the group can see the names of all other members in the group. There is no automatic exchange of cards, but instead Groups allow you to go through a list of group members and send your card quickly to the person(s) in the group you want to connect with.

Where Groups Are Useful:

  • Group Projects: College Students, CoWorkers, or anyone who needs to be productive in a group could use DUB Groups to easily have everyone in a class or on a team join up to a group to make contact information sharing fast and easy.
  • Events / Conferences: Have everyone at your event or conference join into a DUB Group to eliminate paper business cards and ensure your event attendees can stay in touch after the event is over.
  • And More!

Step-by-Step:

To create or join a group please see the steps below:

To setup a group:

  1. On your mobile device, navigate to GROUPS and click CREATE GROUP
  2. Enter the full name of your group and then a DUB ID (nickname for the group that people will use to join it)
  3. Tell everyone in your group the DUB ID and how to join a group (outlined below)

Now, anyone that joined the group will see everyone else in the group and can exchange cards with them.

To join a group:

  1. Get the name of the group from the group creator
  2. Go to GROUPS, click on JOIN GROUP, then enter the DUB ID given to you by the group creator
  3. Alternatively, you may simply send your card to the group DUB ID to join the group
