I thought DUB was free, so why does it say there's a charge to receive a card on a mobile device?

This is a common source of confusion.   DUB is 100% free, but when you send your card to a mobile number they receive an SMS/text message which contains the following text:

"Std msg chrgs apply. Rply HELP 4 help; STOP to quit."

This message, which is required by cellular carriers, is simply indicating that standard charges may apply to receiving the SMS/text itself, not for receiving the DUB card.  Though DUB is a completely free service, your mobile phone service provider may still charge you to send and receive SMS/texts if it is not included in your plan.

You can avoid SMS/texts entirely when sending your card to a non-DUB user by just sending your card to their email address instead of their phone number.  This way, they will receive an email with all your card information instead of a text.
