What am I doing when I send a CircleBack card?

  • Sending your card sends your contact info to the recipient in the form of an electronic business card.
  • You can send your card from the CircleBack app on your phone or from your computer at www.circleback.com

What will the recipient see?

  • Recipients can see your card whether they have CircleBack or not!
  • Recipients will get either an email with your card on it or a SMS/text link to your card.
  • For more info about what the recipient will see when you send a card, see our How-To here: http://support.dubmenow.com/forums/63298/entries/70478

Step-by-Step:

On any device, the basic steps for sending your CircleBack card are simple:

  1. Go to the SEND CARD screen
  2. Type in the recipient's email address, phone number, or CircleBack ID
  3. Click SEND

It's that easy!

You can see more in depth details about sending your cards below, and also look at the scenarios for additional detail about how to send your card the most easily in different situations.

More Details on Sending Your Card:

Sending your card is the simplest but most powerful feature within DUB.  When you choose to send someone your card they will receive all your card information whether they have CircleBack or not!

You can send your card to someone on the Send Card screen by typing in their Email Address, Mobile Phone Number, CircleBack ID, or if you like a little technical wizardry....try using our "Exchange" button on the CircleBack app!  When standing next to another CircleBack user, "Exchange" will allow you to send each other your cards with just the press of a button.

If the person you send your card to doesn't have CircleBack:

They'll get your card information in an email or in a link via text message/SMS (depending on whether you sent them a card via email or phone number). If they do not join CircleBack, they'll just get a reminder email about your card one week after you originally sent it, and then they won't receive any CircleBack emails about you again.

If the person you send your card to does have CircleBack:

They will get the same Email / Text Message with your card info as above PLUS they will also be able to accept your card in CircleBack.

From that point forward, every time either of you changes information on your card DUB will work its magic and update both of your phone's address books over the air. As we say, "Exchange Once. Always Current."!

Please see the scenarios below for additional detail about how to send your card the most easily in different situations!

Scenario 1: Sending your card to a CircleBack App user who's right next to you

  1. Open CircleBack on your mobile device
  2. Click the Exchange button in the main navigation bar (the other person should be doing this too)
  3. Now, you and the other CircleBack user should both click the "Exchange" button at the same time
  4. CircleBack will display a message that it is locating the other person
  5. Within a few seconds you should see the other person's name and basic card information appear on your screen, and vice-versa
  6. Both of you should press the "Yes" button to confirm that CircleBack has found the right person (if it didn't, just press NO and try to locate each other again)
  7. You have now exchanged cards!  CircleBack will show you the other person's full card information and will embed their information into your phone's address book automatically (and your information into theirs).  No tedious typing and no worries about always having their most up-to-date information!

Scenario 2: Sending your card to anyone, anywhere

  1. Open CircleBack on your mobile phone or on your computer at www.circleback.com
  2. Go to the SEND CARD screen
  3. Enter in their email address, mobile phone number, or CircleBack ID (don't worry about typing the hyphens in the phone number)
  4. Press SEND CARD
  5. You're done! Within a few moments the other person will get an email or text message/SMS containing all your card information as well as a link so they can join CircleBack.

Scenario 3: You are using a BlackBerry device and want a quick way to send your card to your existing contacts

  1. Open the BlackBerry Address Book / Contacts list
  2. Scroll to the contact you would like to send your card to
  3. Press the Blackberry Menu key on your phone's keyboard
  4. Click "Send CircleBack Card"
  5. Please Note: As long as the contact you have chosen has an email address or mobile phone number on their address book record, CircleBack will send your card to them accordingly. However if there is no email address or mobile phone number specified for that contact in your address book, CircleBack will not be able to send your card.

Scenario 4: Sending a card via SMS/Text

You can set up CircleBack so that you can send and receive cards via text.  If you have the CircleBack app on your phone this is not necessary, but it is very useful if you don't have a smartphone but still want the convenience of sending cards from your mobile device.
